Authorities are asking the public for help on Friday in their search for an assault suspect who allegedly pointed a gun at a group of minors during an altercation earlier this year in Palmdale.

The incident, described as an assault with a firearm, occurred around 3:40 p.m. on Feb. 19 near a cul-de-sac on Jacob Drive, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department stated in Friday's post on Facebook.

Investigators say the unidentified suspect approached his victim and punched him in the face.

"Suspect then removed a black firearm from his waistband and pointed it at a group of juveniles," the Sheriff's Department said.

The bearded suspect, seen in an image wearing a light-colored hoodie and a skull cap, then fled westbound on Lincoln Lane.
