YPSILANTI, MI — An Ypsilanti restaurant known for its sausages, located just across from Eastern Michigan University’s campus, will close this Sunday.

Wurst Bar, 705 W. Cross St., announced on Instagram its final day will be Aug. 24. The bar originally opened in early 2012.

In their farewell message, the restaurant expressed gratitude to their patrons.

“Thank you all for your incredible support over the years,” the restaurant wrote in the post. “It’s been an unforgettable ride.”

“This location will be going through renovations, and while we’re sad to say goodbye to The Wurst Bar, we’re excited to share that something new is brewing,” the post continues. “Stay tuned!”
