Maryland Budget Secretary Helene Grady is stepping down, marking the latest in a recent string of departures from the Moore administration.
Gov. Wes Moore announced Friday that Grady would resign from her position leading the Maryland Department of Budget and Management in October after nearly three years on the job.
Her departure comes after the state navigated a more than $3 billion budget deficit in this year’s legislative session through a mix of taxes and spending cuts. But the state continues to face significant economic uncertainty from President Donald Trump’s tariffs, cuts to many federal agencies and the withholding of funds to universities in Maryland.
