Concord drivers may soon notice new speed limit signs across town as the City Council considers an ordinance updating speed limits on 23 road segments. The changes come after a citywide Engineering and Traffic Survey, which is required under state law to make speed limits legally enforceable. City officials said the goal is to better align limits with real-world driving speeds while improving safety near schools, parks, and downtown areas where pedestrian and bicycle traffic is heavier. The plan includes both increases and reductions across the city.

Speed Limits Going Up • Crystyl Ranch Drive (Ygnacio Valley Rd. to Hiddencrest Ct.): 35 mph → 45 mph • Rolling Woods Way (Pine Hollow Rd. to Crystyl Ranch boundary): 30 mph → 35 mph • Turtle Creek Road (Treat Blvd. to Swallow Tail Rd.):
