SHARON Drivers traveling through Sharon in the evening can expect to see some detours soon.
According to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), nighttime paving is set to take place in downtown Sharon from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. between Tuesday, September 2 and Friday, September 5. During this time, the road will be milled and paved.
From there, work will start on the retaining wall along Route 718 near Russell Street on Monday, September 8 and is expected to last about 12 days. During this time, a detour will be posted using Clark Street and Route 518.
This work is part of a $4.3 million resurfacing project on more than six miles of Route 718 in Sharon, Hermitage and South Pymatuning Township. This project started in July and is expected to be completed in November.
