WARREN, Maine — An inmate at the Maine State Prison in Warren died Thursday morning.
George Jaime, 87, died on Aug. 21, and his death was attended by medical personnel, according to a news release issued by the Maine Department of Corrections.
Jaime was convicted of murder and sentenced in 2013, and his earliest release date was January 2047. His cause of death was not disclosed in the release.
According to state records, Jaime was charged in 2012 with killing his girlfriend, Starlett Vining, inside her apartment in 1998.
Vining, who was 38 years old at the time of her death, was last seen in October 1998 and was considered a missing person for nearly 15 years.
