A boy whose father entered pleas Thursday for a fatal beating just before Christmas pleaded guilty Friday morning to felonious assault for his participation.
Details of Aiden Friess’s role in the Dec. 22 death of Sherman Ryan were not presented in Lucas County Common Pleas Court when the 17-year-old pleaded guilty to second-degree felonious assault and third-degree tampering with evidence, but it had been described when his father, James Friess, 42, entered Alford pleas Thursday to first-degree involuntary manslaughter and tampering.
The younger Friess faces up to 11 years in prison when Judge Ian English sentences him Sept. 8, four days after his father’s scheduled sentencing hearing before Judge Lori Olender.
