CAMERON PARK, Calif. —
A Cal Fire employee has been arrested after a woman and juvenile died in a shooting in Cameron Park, the El Dorado County Sheriff said Friday.
Deputies responded to a report of a shooting at a residence in the 3000 block of Oakwood Road on Thursday around 9 p.m.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while the juvenile died at the hospital, the sheriff’s office said. Another juvenile in the home was found safe.
Darin McFarlin, 47, was identified as a person of interest and then located and detained after midnight in Mono County.
McFarlin was booked into the El Dorado County jail for two counts of homicide early Friday.
The victims' identities will not be released until next of kin notifications have been made.
