JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man will spend 25 years in prison for causing a crash on Beach Boulevard in Jacksonville that killed two motorcyclists , a judge said on Friday afternoon.

Diego Hernandez Martinez, 45, was sentenced Friday for causing the Oct. 3, 2024 crash that killed 25-year-old Gabe Di Spirito and Joseph Royce

Hernandez Martinez was originally charged with two counts of driving under the influence manslaughter and two counts of driving without a driver's license, causing death or serious bodily injury. He pleaded guilty to two counts of driving under the influence manslaughter in July 2025. Martinez will serve 12.5 years on each charge and could be deported after serving his sentence.
