Phil Mickelson has spent a big chunk of his life on the PGA Tour, over 30 years, with 45 wins and 6 major championships under his belt. But ask him to use a word to describe his life at the Tour back in the day, and he’d probably use the word “anxious.” In fact, he did so this week, saying, “I would just say that I used to have anxiousness going to a (PGA) Tour event with all the details and things that would go on. I would be anxious and not want to go. I’d go as late as I could.”
Before the Tour’s fans could raise their hands at his comments, Mickelson defended himself in a X post, saying, “ I could go into the details of everything I had to do for the tour, sponsors, fans, media and more and we could argue over details and such but you can’t argue with how I feel. ”
