AUBURN, Ala. (WTVM) - A Georgia man has been arrested on multiple felony warrants charging him with identity theft and theft of property.

According to the Auburn Police Department, APD, with help from GSP, arrested 30-year-old Demtreus Vontrail Davis from Conley, GA, on August 20.

Officials say the arrest comes from APD receiving a report involving a forged check on December 5, 2024. A victim reported that a check was posted for mail at a location in Auburn. The check was then stolen, altered, and deposited into a bank account associated with an unknown suspect.

Later in the investigation, Davis was developed as a suspect, and arrest warrants were obtained. GSP found Davis and arrested him on the warrants.
