As developments continue to break regarding the early Friday raid on the home of former White House Security Advisor John Bolton, one Newsmax host made an observation that suggests President Donald Trump may have known more about the operation than he’s admitted to.

Bolton’s home was raided Friday in connection to an investigation over mishandling of classified documents, according to the Associated Press. Shortly after news of the raid broke, Trump told reporters he had no advanced knowledge of the operation, and that he only learned of the raid through watching cable news.

Newsmax host Emma Rechenberg, working unsuccessfully to pull up a live feed of the president’s remarks Friday morning, remarked on his attire in a way that suggested Trump – despite his denials, which she had not heard – may actually have been in the know.

“Notice his hat (that reads) ‘Trump was right about everything?’ Rechenberg asked, viewing an image of Trump from a live feed that had frozen due to technical errors. “Interesting timing to choose that specific red hat to wear today.”

Trump introduced the red hat bearing the phrase “Trump was right about everything” back in February, though has rarely, if ever, been seen donning the cap, choosing instead to wear his signature red “Make America Great Again” hat, or sometimes a white variant of the cap.

Speaking at The People’s House, a museum in Washington, D.C. operated by the White House Historical Association, Trump took questions from members of the press, and insisted he was not briefed on the raid on Bolton’s home ahead of time.

“I don't know about it, I saw it on television this morning,” Trump said, when asked if he had been briefed on the situation.
