An updated coastal flood warning was issued by the National Weather Service on Friday at 4:52 a.m. in effect until Saturday at 2 a.m. for Cumberland and Cape May counties.

The weather service adds to anticipate, "One to two feet of inundation above ground level in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways."

"At this level, widespread roadway flooding occurs in coastal and bayside communities and along inland tidal waterways. Many roads become impassable. Some damage to vulnerable structures may begin to occur," describes the weather service. "A Coastal Flood Warning means that moderate or major tidal flooding is occurring or imminent.
