The parents of 7-month-old Emmanuel Haro have been arrested on murder charges, according to California authorities. Jake and Rebecca Haro were taken into custody on Friday at their home in Cabazon, more than a week after their son was reported missing under suspicious circumstances.

Emmanuel was last seen on August 14, when his mother claimed he was abducted while she was changing his diaper outside a Big 5 Sporting Goods store in Yucaipa. Rebecca Haro stated that she was attacked and knocked unconscious during the incident. However, investigators later identified inconsistencies in her account, prompting further scrutiny of the couple.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department announced the arrests in a social media update, stating that the investigation would continue as they search for Emmanuel. The sheriff's office has not ruled out foul play in the case.

During the investigation, authorities conducted searches at the Haros' home and seized several items, including a vehicle, two iPads, and three Xbox consoles. Cadaver dogs were also deployed to search the property. The couple has reportedly cooperated with investigators, surrendering their phones and allowing searches of their home.

Rebecca Haro had previously made a public plea for information about her missing son, expressing her desperation. "If you know anything, please come forward or take him to the cops. Please come and bring my son back. I’m begging you," she said in an interview.

Court records reveal that Jake Haro has a prior conviction for willful child cruelty involving another child. He is scheduled to appear in court on September 2 for a probation violation related to that case. His attorney emphasized that the circumstances of that case are different from the current situation involving Emmanuel.

As the investigation unfolds, authorities are continuing their search for Emmanuel, who is described as having brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black Nike onesie and is approximately 24 inches tall and weighs around 21 pounds. Anyone with information about Emmanuel's whereabouts is urged to contact law enforcement.
