CLEVELAND — Aaron Sharp, the 24-year-old man accused of fatally shooting two people and wounding two East Cleveland police officers last week, appeared for his arraignment in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court on Friday.
Bond for Sharp was continued at $3 million. His attorneys pleaded not guilty and a pretrial hearing was set for Sept. 3.
Sharp appeared via video conference and was visibly angry during the hearing, continually talking and sometimes shouting to the camera. However, his microphone was muted.
"Do we want to hear him?" Judge Brian Mooney asked at the beginning of the hearing. Sharp's attorneys chose to speak instead. Mooney asked at the end of the hearing if Sharp's microphone should be unmuted.
"Not at this time, your honor," one of Sharp's attorneys quickly replied.
