A man is due in court Friday on a first-degree murder charge in the shooting death of a teenager in Cranston, Rhode Island.

D'Maury Monteiro, 19, of Fall River, Massachusetts, was arrested earlier this month in connection with the shooting that left 16-year-old Eduardo Loran Colon dead at the Pocasset Village Apartments on Dyer Avenue.

Authorities tell NBC10 Boston affiliate WJAR that Monteiro, who waived extradition from Massachusetts following his arrest in Boston, was set to be arraigned Friday in Kent County District Court.

Monteiro is accused of fatally shooting Colon, of Providence, around 2:53 a.m. on Aug. 11 -- an incident that was captured on surveillance camera, according to WJAR.
