BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) -- A DMV office in the Bronx will be temporarily closing in the fall to make way for a new, more modern facility.

The Bronx District Office at 696 East Fordham Road will close on Sep. 26 to prepare for its move and reopening on the third floor of the Bronx Terminal Market on Oct. 1.

“In addition to being a more welcoming and modern facility, the new Bronx Terminal Market location will feature an improved layout that will allow our staff to handle transactions in more efficiently,” said DMV Commissioner Mark J.F. Schroeder.

The new location will also offer better access through nearby public transport
