Texas Rangers outfielder Evan Carter suffered a fractured wrist when he was hit by a pitch from Kansas City Royals pitcher Seth Lugo last night, according to Bruce Bochy in an interview on 105.3 The Fan this afternoon. Given how little time remains in the season, the injury will likely end Carter’s 2025 campaign.
This is just one more bit of unpleasantness to add on to what has been an extremely unpleasant August, and a disappointing 2025 campaign for Carter. After missing most of 2024 due to back issues, Carter struggled in spring training and started the year in AAA. Carter was recalled in early May, but has had two injured list stints this year, and just returned a little over a week ago from the most recent i.l. trip.
