One person is confirmed dead after a small plane crashed at Bangor International Airport Friday afternoon.

The crash happened around 1:20 p.m., according to Bangor Fire Chief Geoffrey Low. The plane was taking off at the time of the crash.

No other people were on board.

The person’s identity is not yet known, Low said.
