A man connected to an attempted murder in La Junta was arrested in Colorado Springs Thursday after a four-hour interagency operation that involved using chemical irritants to get the suspect out of a house, police said.

Chezaray Chavez, 40, was found in the house in the 5300 block of Gentle Wind Road, near Stetson Hills Boulevard and Marksheffel Road around 3 p.m., according to the Colorado Springs Police Department.

Colorado Springs police, the U.S. Marshals Service and the Colorado Department of Corrections were deployed to the area following a request for assistance by the La Junta Police Department Monday.
