The New York Giants made their first wave of cuts on Friday en route to reaching the 53-man roster limit, releasing eight players from their 90-man preseason roster.
Players cut were: • WR Jordan Bly • ILB K.J. Cloyd • CB O’Donnell Fortune • ILB Dyontae Johnson • C Jimmy Morrissey • WR Zach Pascal • WR Montrell Washington • OL Jaison Williams
That leaves the Giants with 83 players, including placekicker Jude McAtamney, who carries an International Exemption. They have 30 moves remaining.
Johnson, a former undrafted free agent from Toledo, was impressive during preseason in 2024. He suffered an ankle injury late in preseason, though, and spent most of the season on IR. He appeared in just two games.
Washington impressed early in the preseason and finished the three games
