After the search for a missing Indigenous Edmonton teen stretches to nearly three months, the Confederacy of Treaty No. 6 First Nations is urging the Edmonton Police Service (EPS) to commit more resources.
Samuel Bird, 14, was seen on June 1, 2025 leaving a friend's residence on foot in the Canora neighbourhood in west Edmonton. He never arrived home.
On Aug. 22, EPS stated investigators have determined the disappearance to be suspicious and are continuing to seek tips from the public.
EPS said they are "deeply attuned" to the national tragedy of missing and murdered Indigenous women and children and their hearts go out to Bird's family.
