MOLINE, Ill. (KWQC) - Drivers in Moline will have some roadwork coming their way at the beginning of next week. City leaders are encouraging drivers to use an alternate route.

Monday, 34th Street in Moline will be closed from University Drive to the north side of 4th Avenue for a complete reconstruction project, city leaders said. Work is expected to continue through December.

Improvements will include street reconstruction, upgrades to the 4th Avenue traffic signal, new underground utilities (water, storm and sanitary systems), fresh pavement markings, new sidewalks, and driveways, landscaping, and other related work.
