CLEVELAND, Ohio – Authorities raided a North Royalton foot parlor Thursday, the latest in a widening statewide crackdown on businesses that investigators say are tied to forced labor and sex trafficking.
North Royalton police and the Northeast Ohio Human Trafficking Task Force searched Meiao Foot Spa on Wallings Road, officials said. Two people were arrested, and federal agents took custody of them.
The raid was one of several carried out in Cuyahoga County, as police searched businesses in Strongsville, Lorain and North Olmsted earlier this month.
Since 2024, law enforcement has searched spas in Maumee, Youngstown, Lakewood, Broadview Heights, Warren, Fairfield in Butler County and Carroll in Fairfield County, among other cities.
