MUSKEGON, MI – A woman suffered a non-life-threatening stab wound during an attempted holdup, police said.

Muskegon police soon arrested a 20-year-old man.

The incident happened around 6 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, in the 1700 block of Smith Street, near East Larch Street.

The victim, a 43-year-old woman, suffered a stab wound to her upper body during the attempted holdup. She did not know the attacker.

She was taken to Trinity Health Muskegon Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

A short time later, police found the suspect still in the area. He is being held in the Muskegon County Jail.
