Paramount is no longer planning for a second season of Dexter: Original Sin despite initially renewing the show for more episodes.

News broke on Friday, August 22, that Dexter: Original Sin has been on hiatus and there are no plans to shoot a second season, according to Variety. Sources told the outlet that no production dates were scheduled since the show wrapped up its first season in February.

Paramount has shifted its focus to Michael C. Hall‘s Dexter spinoff titled Dexter: Resurrection, which will imminently open a writers room for a potential season 2. While the show hasn’t been renewed yet, the chances are strong based on high viewership ahead of the first season finale.
