PUEBLO COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - Colorado officials provided updates on the criminal investigation into Pueblo County Coroner Brian Cotter at a press conference on Friday.
Charges have not yet been filed against Cotter, who is accused of hiding decomposed bodies in his funeral home, and charges cannot be filed until the investigation is complete, according to the 10th Judicial District Attorney’s office.
The Colorado Bureau of Investigations (CBI) said the primary focus of the investigation has been a thorough criminal investigation and the respectful identification of the deceased. At least 20 bodies were found inside the home.
The El Paso County and Fremont County coroners have been deputized and will assume responsibility for the Pueblo County coroner’s duties, as Cotter was issued a
