The Idylwylde Golf and Country Club could get a little bit smaller after a vote on Thursday to sell about 10 acres of land to Health Sciences North, its next-door neighbour.

The club’s membership voted 69.7 per cent in favour of selling the land, while about 30 per cent opposed the idea.

Paul Schweyer, general manager of the club, confirmed it was in discussions with HSN to sell off some land.

“The Idylwylde Golf and Country Club can confirm we are in discussions with HSN regarding the potential sale of a portion of our property. This is a significant opportunity that, if approved by our members, will serve the community in a new and vital way,” Schweyer said earlier this week, before the vote took place.

The club said HSN is interested in purchasing 10.3 acres
