LANCASTER, S.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- A Lancaster man was sentenced to 50 years in prison, following a guilty plea in court Wednesday, after a familial altercation turned fatal.
On May 21, 2025, officers with the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a reported familial altercation at a home on Memorial Park Road.
According to the report, Baskins had become irate and caused damage to several vehicles parked at the residence, as well as presented a firearm at several members of his family. Prior to law enforcement’s arrival, Baskins fled the scene on foot.
Later that evening, Baskins was detained and it was discovered that he was in possession of a vehicle belonging to Charles Presler of Rock Hill. After making contact with Presler’s wife, deputies responded to 1100 Memoria
