LOUISVILLE, Ky. —

Friday and Saturday mark the final two days of the 122nd World's Championship Horse Show .

The event pits the best of the best American Saddlebred horses against one another, crowning world champions in various disciplines.

For people like Kristan Cater, owner of the New Hampshire–based Cater Stables, this event represents the pinnacle of the sport.

"It's very important. I feel like so many of our decisions throughout the year are based around this week," Cater said. "Just because everyone is looking for their next world champion."

The World's Championship Horse Show features horses being put through their paces by riders of all ages, both professional and amateur.

All of the competitions are judged.
