FORSYTH, Ill. (WAND) — Two men were booked into the Macon County Jail on Thursday after police say they attempted to solicit a child at a Forsyth hotel.
The Macon County Sheriff's Office said Thad Olson, 58, and Robert Danbury, 34, were arrested at the hotel as part of an Illinois State Police undercover operation.
Olson and Danbury face charges of solicitation to meet a child and traveling to meet a child—which are Class 3 and Class 4 felonies, respectively.
WAND News has reached out to Illinois State Police for more information on the arrests.
A detention hearing for both Olson and Danbury has been set for Monday.
