DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division has charged a man after threatening a public employee.

Ricardo Darnell Jones, 45, is charged with threatening the life of a public employee and two counts of third-degree assault and battery.

SLED spokesman Renée Wunderlich said Jones attended a job fair held at the SC Works Center in April, when he became irate and threatened a South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce employee after being asked to sign in.

After being asked to leave, he entered the lobby, where he dropped his cell phone. As the employee attempted to pick it up, Jones pushed them into the wall, causing the employee to hit their head.
