OXFORD, Connecticut — This week, members of a family who suffered tremendous loss after a gruesome double-homicide last summer are ready to share their story.

On May 30, 2024, two people were found in a burning car in Oxford, just off of Route 34. After extinguishing the flames, first responders found 36-year-old David Rivera and 39-year-old Carlos Calderon in the car.

Both men in Hartford. Their deaths were ruled suspicious, but there are currently no suspects in custody.

Gladys Rivera is David's older sister and said she wants everyone to know there's so much more to his story than this tragedy.

She said her family misses him everyday, and right now, they are only left with pictures and memories to hold onto because someone took away their chance to ever hold David again.
