STAFFORD, Conn. —

A Stafford family is trying to wrap their minds around the video that was captured outside of their house overnight by surveillance footage.

A naked man can be seen on camera running away from the house on Prospect Street with a knife in his hand.

"I’m thinking to myself, who’s ringing my doorbell at this time of night?” said the mother, who wished to remain anonymous.

It was a terrifying moment caught on camera. The man walks up to this family's porch, then runs away.

In the video of him running away, a sharp silver object can be seen in his right hand.

"It woke me up out of a sound sleep,” said the mother. “I go out of bed, slowly made my way to the living room, and before I went to the door, I looked out the window and didn’t see anybody. That’s when I checked
