The Seattle Kraken have been a very active team since the NHL offseason began. One of their better moves was to bring Mason Marchment to strengthen their forward unit. However, you don’t reinforce a unit just to trade another one of your stars. At least that’s not the team’s modus operandi.

Forward Jared McCann has been in the mind of plenty other NHL franchises. However, according to NHL insider Rob Simpson reported that the team has little to no intentions to move McCann elsewhere.

“The 29-year-old… has two more seasons left on his contract at a very reasonable $5-million per,” Simpson wrote via Seattle Hockey Insider. “Those are two very good reasons why the Kraken were telling teams, at least up until now, that they’re not parting with their lefty winger who can also play the middle.
