JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — It's August in Jacksonville, so it's no secret that it's hot and humid.
But August is also the start of football season, so that means that kids all over are going to be practicing and playing outside for hours at a time.
"We try to emphasize days before you need to be drinking as much water as you can because they, we all lose a lot of, of sweat out here," said University Christian head football coach David Penland.
Penland says his players always have access to water and that they don't have to wait for any breaks in order to grab a cold drink. He also said they get plenty of breaks.
"Every 30 minutes you have to do a five-minute water break, so sometimes we'll go six minutes or you know, seven minutes and, and sit them in the shade or find shade," said Penland.
