GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. — Glynn County officials are taking safety measures and warning the public about the presence of the West Nile virus in the Brunswick area.

Glynn County Public Works was notified Friday by the county's mosquito control contractor that multiple mosquito pools tested positive for the virus, including at Blythe Island Regional Park, the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, the Georgia-Pacific Paper Mill and on New Castle Street.

The positive cases were all found in mosquitoes and there are currently no reported human cases of the virus.

The Georgia Coastal Health District has been notified about the positive cases.
