TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WFLA) — Lieutenant Governor Jay Collins has returned from his trip to California to extradite the illegal immigrant accused of killing three people in a Florida crash. However, critics are questioning the legality of this mission and whether Collins had the right to put his hands on the detainee.

Collins joined law enforcement to escort Harjinder Singh back to the state to face three counts of vehicular homicide.

"Maybe he was hoping to walk Scott free, but our Governor, Governor Ron DeSantis, and State Attorney Tom Bakkedahl had other things in mind," said Sheriff Richard Del Toro, St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office.
