MERIDEN, Conn. (WTNH) — A woman who used to work in Meriden school system was sentenced to five years in jail, execution suspended, and three years of probation, for exchanging inappropriate text messages with a student at Lincoln Middle School, according to the Connecticut Department of Justice.

Tamara Johnson, 38, surrendered to Meriden police in Nov. 2024. She was charged with risk of injury to a minor/impairing the morals of a minor and pleaded guilty in June.

Johnson worked as a school climate specialist, which Meriden Public Schools described as someone who works to create, “positive school environments.”
