SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - The Shreveport Police Department is looking for a man accused of buying items at a local store using counterfeit money.

Paul Crowder, 29, is wanted for monetary instrument abuse, police say.

According to SPD, on Aug. 11, officers were contacted by Home Depot on E Bert Kouns about a fraudulent purchase. Detectives were able to get surveillance footage of the man involved, who was later identified as Crowder.

Police say Crowder is accused of buying more than $700 worth of merchandise using counterfeit $100 bills.

During the investigation, police say they found out Crowder has a history involving counterfeit money. In 2023, he was arrested in Chicago for being in possession of counterfeit $100 bills that were actually altered $10 bills.
