GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - Lawmakers and county officials from across the state met Friday for an annual conference in Greenville.

Congressmen Don Davis and Greg Murphy were among those in attendance at the 118th annual gathering of the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners.

The conference featured panels to discuss topics important to attendees, such as advocacy, strategies for engaging lawmakers, communicating needs, and influencing policy outcomes.

Davis explained why it’s essential for lawmakers at various levels to meet with county officials. He says, “We keep building relationships with our counties and that is so important. But for us to have a stronger eastern North Carolina, it’s going to take federal, state and local to come together.”
