Firefighters were called out to reports of a 'person in the water'.

Police and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service crews attended the scene near Manchester Old Road in Rhodes, Middleton .

It came after reports earlier tonight that a person was in the water. Police officers and firefighters confirmed that the person had left the water and they were assessed by paramedics.
