The New Jersey Department of Community Affairs announced a program that will supply 10 municipalities with the resources and funding needed for pre-development planning of affordable housing.

The municipalities chosen must commit to developing at least one affordable housing project within a 12- to 24-month timeframe. Those towns that partner with non-profit developers will have access to the Launchpad Predevelopment Fund, a $10 million fund to support such expenses.

The program is called New Jersey Housing Opportunities for Municipal Equity and Success, or NJHOMES.
