RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) -- A Wake County man was indicted on new charges after a woman killed in May 2024 was found to be pregnant, the sheriff's office said Friday.

It all unfolded in the 3700 block of Camley Avenue near Raleigh.

Tyra Jalisa Bennett, 23, was found dead in a wooded area on May 6, 2024 . During the investigation, the sheriff's office discovered that she was pregnant at the time.

After a grand jury proceeding, Noa Najee Lorenzetti, 27, was indicted on an additional charge of murder of an unborn child.

He's already being held on a murder charge in Bennett's death at the Wake County Detention Center under no bond.

Bennett's father, Tysean Bennet, told ABC11 in May 2024 that he had never heard Lorenzetti's name nor seen him before his first court appearance.
