All eyes were on Pinnacle Bank Arena as No. 3 Pitt volleyball opened the season against No. 1 Nebraska. The Cornhuskers looked like they were going to sweep the Panthers, but Pitt showed some resilience to stave off the brooms.
Unfortunately for the Panthers, they didn’t do enough in the fourth set to force a fifth. Nebraska won the match 3-1 (25-22, 25-11, 20-25, 25-23), and Pitt started the 2025 season 0-1.
Pitt had a 21-18 lead at the end of the first set, but Nebraska came back with a 7-1 run to win the set by three points.
