KENNEWICK, Wash. – Benton County residents now have a new place to safely dispose of hazardous waste. A new moderate risk waste facility has opened in Kennewick, providing a convenient option for residents to dispose of items such as paints, oil, gases, antifreeze, and pesticides.

Clayton Rawlings, Benton County Public Works Manager, emphasized the importance of proper disposal. "A facility like this gives the citizens of Benton County an opportunity to dispose of those materials that they might have that are considered household hazardous waste from their home in a controlled environment," he said.

Previously, cars would line up for hours during hazardous waste disposal events. Now, residents can visit the facility four days a week, Wednesday through Saturday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m
