CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A suspect was arrested following stabbing on a Charlotte LYNX light rail train late Friday evening that left a person dead.

Medic confirmed it happened around 10:30 p.m. near the station along Camden Road and where West Boulevard and East Boulevard meet in South End. The victim, identified as 23-year-old Iryna Zarutska, died at the scene.

The suspect, identified as 34-year-old Decarlos Brown, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries sustained during the incident, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department . A third person was taken to the hospital for an unrelated incident.
