BOISE, Idaho — A years-long dispute between a nonprofit senior center and the City of Eagle ended on Friday with a jury ruling in favor of the center, awarding damages.

The decision was filed on Friday, Aug. 22, by District Judge Jason D. Scott. Court records show Eagle Senior Citizens sued the city in 2023 for unlawfully terminating their lease, taking financial records and prematurely locking nonprofit members out of the building.

The legal battle followed years of cooperation between the nonprofit and the city. The senior center had rented its city-owned building for $1 annually until the city canceled the lease and began eviction proceedings in 2023.
