HOLMESVILLE, Ohio — Nearly 75 years after he was killed in action during one of the most harrowing battles of the Korean War, 1st Lt. William H. Hott is finally coming home.

Hott, a Holmes County native and decorated U.S. Army officer, died on Dec. 1, 1950, at the Battle of Chosin Reservoir in North Korea. The 29-year-old served with the 32nd Regiment of the 7th Infantry Division, and had previously completed two tours during World War II.

For decades, his family waited for answers.

"It's been bad, because every one of us have been waiting and waiting and waiting," said Hott's niece, Margaret Sebulsky. "He actually has (had) a grave and a stone (waiting) since 1951."
