HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Grayce Beck grew up on her family farm. As she grew up, she always had dreams of playing college softball.
“Every parent at some point ask their kid ‘what do you want to do when you grow up?’ and the answer was always softball,” said Beck’s mother, Alyica Watts.
She grew up going to the Lawrence-Nelson school district, and their high school did not have a softball program. So, in order to chase her dreams, she talked to her parents about moving to Hastings.
“It was hard, the conversations we had to make that decision, but ultimately it was her dream,” said Watts.
Moving 40 minutes away from home came with its challenges.
